Just a short, funny e-story for a blizzardy Monday in Upstate New York.
I was browsing Etsy today because I'm thinking about doing some kind of holiday giveaway (the site is finally getting enough traffic to make an event like that viable, which is exciting).
Since I'm always going on about how beneficial I've found journaling to be, I thought that maybe I'd give away a couple of nice, leatherbound journals as prizes.
So, I'm scanning through Etsy listings, and I come across the journal pictured above, which appears reasonably well put-together and has some positive reviews. It's almost 35 bucks, which is a little on the steep side, but it's got a custom name and date emblazoned on the cover, which does something to justify the increased cost, I guess.
I'm looking through the reviews and come across the following gem:
Is it just me, or was Mom - and I knew that this was from a mom before I saw "Roxanne" listed as the name of the reviewer - having a passive-aggressive moment? Maybe trying to drop a hint?
A gag gift to remind her son not to overindulge on his big day?
Not your average wedding gift. Struck me as kind of a savage reminder.
Made me smile, at any rate.
If anyone likes the look of the above journal and wants to check out the Etsy listing, it's here.
If you're into journaling, I put together a list of 75 reflective / healing / creative writing prompts, which you can find here.
Love you all,
Brian
